Anestos Mazanis was born in Chania, Crete, and is currently studying Fine and Applied Arts
at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His relationship with painting began as a personal
need for expression and has evolved into a focused exploration of contemporary abstract
art.
His work centers on the concept of beauty and the interplay between color and form.
Through this process, he seeks to capture aspects of the subconscious and explore how
inner experiences can take visual shape. Each painting serves as both an experiment in
composition and a learning process that reveals what feels true, moving, and aesthetically
meaningful.
He has participated in several exhibitions and artistic projects, including the group show “Art
as Utopian” at Time of Art Gallery, curated by Eleni Sakali, and in two art competitions
organized by the Tellogleion Foundation of Arts, where he received an honorary
distinction in the contest “Animals and Us.”
His work is defined by clarity, discipline, and a continuous pursuit of artistic growth. It
combines academic study with an authentic inner exploration, aiming to translate the
language of the subconscious into visual form through color and structure.
