Born in Athens into a family steeped in the arts, Loukia Konstantinou found creative expression early in life. She studied painting under Antonis Apergis and photography at EMEF and later worked alongside ceramic artist Dimitra Stavrinidou — an experience that introduced her to the tactile world of clay and the quiet dialogue between form and material.
Her paintings reveal an impressionistic minimalism — textured surfaces, subtle hues, and a refined simplicity of composition. Through oil, mixed media, and watercolor, she captures the poetry of the everyday: fleeting impressions of nature, light, and memory shaped by her travels and encounters.
Drawn to the contemplative spirit of Chinese art and philosophy, Konstantinou sought ways to weave Eastern sensibility into her Western artistic practice. She studied Chinese painting at the Confucius Institute and, in 2018, led two workshops on the subject at the Herakleidon Museum.
Since 2000, her work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions, as well as photography shows where she has received honorary distinctions. Her paintings are part of private and corporate collections in Greece and abroad.
