List of products by artist Theodora Barda
Theodora Barda was born and raised in Nea Anchialos, Volos. Her involvement with the arts, and especially painting, began right after finishing school. She studied conservation of antiquities and works of art, as well as conservation of iconography and paintings, and worked for several years as a conservator at the Museum of Volos.
At the same time, she attended drawing and painting classes at the school of the renowned painter Paleologos Theologos, as well as courses in sculpture, photography, and artistic jewelry. In 2022, she obtained a degree in children's book illustration.
She has been professionally engaged in painting for the past ten years. She has participated in dozens of exhibitions in Greece and abroad and has been a member of the International Watercolor Society since 2019.
In 2023, she was awarded the international "Donatello" Prize in Florence, Italy, and in the same year, her works were published in the magazine "Contemporary Art Masters."
Her artworks are part of many private collectors’ collections abroad, as well as in the "Tricera" gallery in Tokyo.
Her paintings consist of dozens of layers of color—some transparent, others opaque. Light refracts through the transparent layers and reflects back to the viewer. This unique technique creates the illusion of depth and volume.
Her goal is to create visual poems, to transport the viewer into a different dimension from the existing one, and to offer an imaginary escape from everyday life.
