Despina Georgiadi–Thessalonikeos was born in Athens. Today, she lives and works in Dionysos. She studied English Philology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She worked as a senior employee at the Commercial Bank and at the Ministries of National Economy and Finance as a Public Relations officer. She also served as Public Relations officer at the Ministry of Agriculture (Greek Presidency of the EU).

She has attended numerous seminars in Interior Decoration and Architecture, Art History, and Mosaic at the American College of Athens. She focused on the art of mosaic, which defined her expressive path. She took intensive mosaic courses at the Benaki Museum and at the Mosaic Center “Psifidon Gnosis,” with mosaicist and mosaic conservator Nikos Tolis. She continued her studies in Ravenna, Italy, at the Scuola Arte del Mosaico with Luciana Notturni and at Studio Kokomosaico with Luca Barberini and Arianna Gallo. Afterwards, she attended an intensive course program emphasizing mosaic coloring at the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli in Spilimbergo, Italy. She completed a mosaic seminar with Maestro Marco De Luca in Athens, 2018.

She was a selected artist at the RavennaMosaico Festival in Italy with her work The e-Book of Knowledge, 2011. She was co-organizer of the Greek participation in the international project for Afghan women, Hanging by a thread, 2022, under the auspices of UNESCO. She has been a member of the International Association of Contemporary Mosaic (AIMC) since 2010 and was a member and elected Secretary of the Organizational Committee of the Greek Mosaic Association.

She has participated in numerous exhibitions in Greece and abroad.
